Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have noticed that oiling my hair results more in hairfall. Any oil. Is there any chance, my hair is allergic to oil. Do I stop? I usually don t oil. Very seldom. If i do so for nourishment, it s falls badly Please suggest whether should I continue the oiling or stop it
An allergy is unlikely, but hairfall is most about some imbalance either in nutrients, diet, enzymes or hormones. If you otherwise do not suffer from hairloss, then the use of oil could be causing some imbalance resulting in the hairfall and thus I would recommend the discontinuation of the use of oil. But you should also know that the process of oiling your hair also helps in shedding of the weak and poorly nutritioned strands which are present on your scalp, either way discontinue it for now and meet a dermatologist if your hair is dry.
Best wishes.
