What Causes Granulated Tissue Formation On The Toe?

Hi, i recently had a wedge resection on my left big toe, however there is some granulation tissue at the top right corner of the toe despite it being cut off before by a gp. Was just wanting to know if there was a way to get rid of the granulation tissue in that area for good?
