What Causes General Itching All Over The Body?

Hi, I have general itching all over the body with no rashes or pimples for the last 15days. I have thyroid imbalance for which I m on Thyroxin 25mg for over 5yrs. I have also undergone total hysterectomy in 2009.I m aged 54 &also have asthma problem for which I use Furacort 200 inhaler regularly. Kindly advise me about the treatment for this disturbing itching Nalini Menon,Palakkad, Kerala, india

hi.welcome to healthcare magic.i understand your problem.you have generalised itching.my opinion is that,
1.dont scratch the lesions.
2.avoid contact with chemicals, detergents, allergens.
3.wear cotton dress.
4.take levocetrizine tablets twice daily to control itching.
5.apply calamine lotion over the itchy area.
6.kindly check your blood sugar levels.
