Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have all the signs of Thyroidism. My blood work came in as acceptable. I feel like I have a frog in my throat and my 1 ear is plugged or sometimes drains down my throat. One Doctor said it could be allergies, which I do have and with otc meds it does alleviate some of the problems with my ear but not the throat issue. I have an ultra sound booked in 2 weeks. Not sure if I should just go back to my DR. or wait? Thanks, Dori
I don't think this is related to thyroid gland problems. It can be related to allergy or tonsillitis which can cause the symptoms of blocked ear and congestion. I think you may need to visit an ENT doctor to examine your throat and nose to check the problem. You may need to take antibiotics, antihistamines and anti-inflammatory drugs such advil or acetaminophen. Even corticosteroid can be used for congestion.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
