Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Fullness In Chest, Bloating And Sudden Muscle Jerks In Chest?
I feel like my chest is full, almost bloated, that my lungs are like half full constantly, resulting in me only getting a half breath and feeling like my lungs are completely filled. I can let out the extra air and take a regular breath, but I get a sudden jerk of my muscles about my solar plexus? right in the middle of my chest. What can I do to alleviate this?
This feeling of fullness of the chest with difficult breathing can be due to various reasons. It can be due to heart-related problems (usually have sweating and associated chest pain) or infections of the lungs. Sometimes gastritis or reflux can also cause these symptoms. Occasionally muscle strain or even stress and anxiety can also be responsible.
You should have a balanced diet, avoid spicy and oily food, go for a walk, and practice deep breathing exercises. However, I feel that the persistence of such symptoms should not be ignored . You should go for some investigations like complete blood count, ECG, and X-ray chest. This will help to make a proper diagnosis.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Milinda Gupta, Internal Medicine Specialist
