What Causes Frequent Urination With Hot Flashes?

I have felt like I need to go to the bathroom numerous times daily, yet when I go, there is little urine. After going, I still have the feeling of having to go. This has been going on for about 4 days. I have recently started a estrogen patch to help control hot flashes. Could this have anything to do with these feelings? If I do have a bladder infection, how do I treat it?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a urinary tract infection. I suggest doing a urine test to confirm the diagnosis. If the diagnosis is confirmed, the treatment consists in antibiotics such as Ciprofloxacin. I also suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen to relieve the symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
