Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Frequent Urination, Incontinence And Increased Thirst?
I am a 59 year old male. I am urinating more than what I think should be normal. I get up anywhere from 3-5 times per night. Typically if I drink a glass of water or soft drink I will urinate 4-6 times rather quickly and it is normally a very large amount. When I feel the urge I have to find a bathroom quickly and have had to deal with some leakage problems. I am also always very thirsty, but if I have to travel or have to be in a meeting, I will refrain from drinking anything that morning. Any ideas?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to urinary tract infection. Urine routine examination will be helpful to rule out this. This also will be helpful to rule out diabetes. You should also check fasting and post prandial blood sugar to rule out any glyceimic intolerance. In case of infection antibiotic therapy will be required.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
