What Causes Frequent Urination In Children?

My son is 11 years old and he has been having issues with frequent urination for about two months. I took him to his pediatrician and he does not have a uti and she also said they checked for diabetes and his urine looked normal. He has been getting up in the middle of the night to pee and will go as often as every 30 min - 1 hour during the day. He goes quit a bit also when he does go. The only medicine he is on on a regular basis is metoprolol for migraines. Could that cause increased urination?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,
Thanks for asking.

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. The more water he takes in, the more urine he is going to evacuate.
2. Get a urine examination again particularly for specific gravity and urine sugar to evaluate for diabetes inspidus.

If both came normal again, it is increased water input.

3. If it is colorless, urine infection possibility is low.

Further details necessary for further opinion as his sugar and infective causes are ruled out.so no need to bother much.It could be due to high water intake.

Consult urologist if problem persists.

Hope it helps.
Regards,
