What Causes Frequent Urination And Urine Retention?

I suffer from frequent urination and additionally almost half of my bladder retains urine which creates infections. It never completely empties. I have been on Macrobid 100 MG capsules, two capsules per day, for several months now while my doctor is trying to solve my problem. Approximately 3-4 days after I discontinue use of Macrobid the infection returns. A friend of mine uses Alfuzosin which seems to help emptying the bladder..... I just found this out today after discussing my problem with him. my email address is YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You should get further evaluated. A pressure flow study is used to evaluate outlet obstruction.

This test uses x-ray or ultrasound during the filling and emptying of the bladder to evaluate the situation.

Alfuzosin may be advisable but after seeing the results of the tests.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
