What Causes Frequent Urination Along With Burning Sensation?

I am a 50+ female and have experienced frequent burning urine recently. I realize it can be a symptom for other very serious things, but he only thing I ve done diffently which coincides is drinking organic green tea several times a day. Do you feel the detoxing effect of the tea could be causing it. When I stopped drinking the tea for a 2 day trial the burning pain stopped, so I feel it is the culprit but would like a professional opinion since I would like to continue drinking the tea, but without pain. I m thinking maybe after the tea has detoxed my body the burning will cease...?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for your query.
Based on your symptoms, a urinary tract infection is most likely.
However since you have found a direct association with green tea, this may be the more likely culprit.

Caffeine is an irritant. To much caffeine can cause these problems. I suggest you use decaffeinated green tea or limit the number of teas you consume.
Drinking plenty of water along with this will also help.
If the symptoms persist even when not on green tea, I recommend you have an urine analysis do everything to check for infection. Hope this helps

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

Wish you good health
