General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read your message and understood your medical problem.

In the case of an athlete, excessive exercise may lead to iron deficiency. When starting the training there is an increased production of hemoglobin which is the blood protein that carries the oxygen.

Symptoms will be fatigue and increased thirst which may come due to the production of the lactic acid and increased sweating. Rapid heart rate and shortness of breath are very common in this case.

As time passes anemia will be installed. What you need to do is to start a proper diet and if symptoms do not resolve please see your doctor as iron supplements need to be carefully dosed in the case of athletes. Include red meat, pork, seafood, beans, and peas, dry fruits like raisins and dark green vegetables like spinach. Also, reduce the intensity of exercise for about 2-3 weeks.

If no result doing what mentioned above please see your doctor.

Hope this is helpful.

Thank you.
