What Causes Frequent Heat Sensations For A 43-year-old?

Right buttock and right hamstring (about 2/3 of the way down to the knee) has frequent intense heat sensations. No injury. This is day 3 of steroids and NSAIDS. No pain, just the flashes of intense heat. It is one sided only. No urinary incontinence or retention. No saddle anesthesia. No bowel incontinence. I am only 43.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your symptoms suggest spinal injury in lumber spine with pinching nerves supplying the affected parts where specific temperature fibers are hurt. Diagnosis would be by imaging investigation like MRI followed by specific treatment (medicines, physiotherapy, surgery in few cases).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
