What Causes Frequent Headaches And Swelling In The Ear?

I have been getting frequent headaches for over a year behind my left ear. I ve seen a neurologist and an ENT, and they say it s stress, and give me topimax, which works most of the time, but it troubles me that when I don t take it, or when it doesn t work, that I have intense headaches in the same spot, as well as swelling and muscle spasms in my ear and they keep telling me that there is nothing wrong, clearly, something is.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a migraine.

It can be triggered by stress.

I recommend using anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen.

You can also use Topimax in case that Ibuprofen doesn't work.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
