What Causes Frequent Headache Which Subsides After Taking Concerta?

I am 38 years old. My doctor has prescribed Concerta for me about 8 months ago. At first it was helping me, but the past month I have been waking up with bad headaches that go away when I take the Concerta and they come back around 6 pm. I have also noticed I am feeling depressed and isolating myself, which I have never done before. It has really put a toll on my marriage. Have you heard of this before? What is a good medication for ADHD?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the Concerta (Methylphenidate) is the best drug prescribed to you for controlling the underlying disorder of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. It is probably the inadequate dose which is giving you the frequent headache after the effect of the drug is wear off. Kindly discuss the same with your treating physician and get best advise. Till the time being approach, self meditations and YOGA will help you immensely for sure.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
