What Causes Foul Odor From The Right Side Of The Nasal Passage?
For about the past 1 & 1/2 months, I ve had a foul odor coming from the right side nasal passage along with a yellow crust that forms on the inside of the passage. When I try to remove the crust, I notice a foul smell. I smell all of the time whether I m removing the crust or not. When I babysat years ago, there was a child that had some kind of a problem in his nasal passages and this same odor was very strong when you got near the child. What causes this?
Rhinolith is a stone present in the nasal cavity. The word is derived from the roots rhino- and -lith, literally meaning "nose stone". It is an uncommon medical phenomenon, not to be confused with dried nasal mucus.
Chronic atrophic rhinitis, or atrophic rhinitis, is a chronic inflammation of nose characterised by atrophy of nasal mucosa, including the glands. Examination of the nasal cavity is essential to rule out the cause and for further management.
