What Causes Fluttering Sensation In The Throat With A History Of Vitamin Deficiency?

My thyroid often feels like it is jumping around in my throat. It feels like a heart murmur when it happens. I ve had an EKG, and they said everything ok with heart. The thyroid is acting up more and more in last few weeks. I also have a vitamin D deficiency. I take vitamin D3.. is this related to the problems?

Hello,

It does not seem your symptoms are related to vitamin D deficiency. If you think you have problems with the thyroid it is best to rule it out with a simple blood test called TSH. If TSH is normal then the symptoms you are experiencing are not from the thyroid either. If the TSH is less then 0.5 or more then 5 then the thyroid gland might be not well functioning and needs medical attention and proper treatment and follow up.

I think, by what you explain, the most likely cause of your symptoms (especially if TSH is normal) is anxiety. It may cause spasms in the muscles all over the body but in the neck as well and make you feel uncomfortable. You will need to talk with your doctor on the above issues and have a full examination and then your doctor will be able to differentiate the real cause of your symptoms and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
