What Causes Fluid Retention In The Lungs While Suffering From Flu?

hello, my mother is 93 and was doing really well, she came down with the flu and her chest was starting to get fluid so i called 911 and had her taken to the hospital she was treated for pnuemonia and was realeased .they have her on 14 different drugs and shes kind of acting like a zombie and very weepy and she says she dont feel like herself..shes on a new blood pressure med, a heart rythem med, blood thinners, two stattons, two antibiotics...it just seems like a lot of different chemicals to be mixing together in her body cant be good, plus she has cronic kidney issues and has only 20%function

Hello,

Pneumonia can cause accumulation of fluid in lungs, that goes when treated well. Renal problems can cause that too. I think that doctors have to give medications that have a liver elimination and does not harm kidneys. If she is not feeling better, I would suggest you go to the hospital and to see if this has to do with kidney disorders.
