What Causes Fluctuating Blood Pressure Levels?

my doctor told me to monitor my blood pressure. I ve been taking on and off tonight. The lowest it s been is155/75 and highest (just five minutes ago - 210/94. Then every time since then it s fluctuating from 190/50 to 185/74. I have a doctor s appt. Thurs. a.m., but am pretty scared right now. What is your opinion?

Cannot say in your particular situaiton. First, blood pressure readings are never done right. lying down > 5 minutes.
Second, a wide variety of contexts make the reading incorrect: talking. moving, position, size of cuff, stiffness of the arteries. The guy today had heavy scarring of the arms from a fire and arteries just made noises.
Then drugs for bp : beta blockers notoriously bounce around the BP. Lisinopril has 70 to 90% of it get digested prior to working therefore it varies from bad to nothing in its effects. and then there can be disease states taht raise adrenaline and increase the BP tremendously and briefly and intermittantly.
