I have been having a floating sensation while driving for the past 3 months. I have seen my family physician, a neurologist and an ophthlamologist. My CT with no contrast was negative. And I did get a new prescription for glasses. No help. This only occurs when driving over about 30 MPH. Have you ever heard this? Thank you! Kelly
Hi. Thanks for your query. Yes, I have heard of this, the person getting a floating sensation after the speed of 30 mph speed. Since you have already taken an opinion of an ENT, Neurologist and Ophthalmologist, I would suggest you the following: First of all, stop driving at all or do not drive above 30 mph as this is potentially dangerous. Secondly Get another ENT opinion as the problem may be in the vestibulitis or semicircular canal or you are suffering from some general disease like Typhoid, malaria, post-flu or so on, indicating that the body's responses have slowed down. Undergo specific tests as per the clinical findings of an ENT and your Physician. Neuronitis can take tie to settle and this is usually self-limiting, but till then you should not take any risks.
