What Causes Fever, Sore Throat And Frequent Urination In A Child?
Grandson age 5 presented with virus. Still had slight fever after 5 days. Dr prescribed pencillin for possible bacterial infection. No improvement. Still had sore throat and was given steroids to help. 3 days later hives all over. Dr diagnosed mono. Next day excessive urination..very excessive. Back to dr. Urine test were negative but somewhat diluted. Dr worried about diabetes? Or kidney failure??? Your opinion?
I think the excess urination was for 2 main reasons: - increased fluids intake - fever he experienced
You can test for diabetes (fasting blood sugar, HbA1C, oral glucose tolerance test), liver/kidney function test to ensure there is no such metabolic issues.
Wish fast recovery. Dr.Albana Sejdini
