What Causes Fever, Body Pain And Sore Throat After Anal Sex?

Hi. I am a gay male, about a month ago I had sex with a man (unprotected oral/protected anal receptive) and two days later he told me he was suffering from a fever and had a sore throat. On Friday I slept with a different man (unprotected oral/anal insertive) and due to my being drunk I accidentally ejaculated inside him. On Sunday he informed me that he was also running a fever and had aching pains throughout his body, and is understandably very worried. I rarely /never have unprotected sex and have myself have no symptoms, other than occasionally I believe i find an occasional bit of discharge (clear and odourless and in very small amounts). I am now very worried I have infected them With something and have booked into a sexual health clinic but was wondering if you could shed some light on the matter in the meantime

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, the unprotected anal and oral sex with gay personality do pause a significant health risk particularly when one of the partner is suffering from upper or lower respiratory tract infection.

* The Cytomegalo virus and Herpes are two most common pathogens responsible for transmission through this mode of action. The HIV and Human Papilloma also come in list as next possibilities.

Kindly get checked with your primary care physician and get basic lab tests for STD panel in terms of blood tests, swab tests of oropharynx and penile discharge.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
