What Causes Fever And Headache After Receiving A Tetanus Shot?

Hello my name is William. The other day I received a tetanus booster. Later that night I experienced chills, a slight fever, and headache. It lasted until morning hours. Later that day the symptoms started to diminish. Is this something I should be concerned with and follow up with my primary doctor?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that the symptoms are not related to the injection but related to a new onset of an acute illness eg cough/flu though this is not as likely if they are diminishing

At this stage, you can consider monitoring the symptoms for any changes. If they worsen or you remain concerned, then you should be assessed by your doctor.

I hope this helps
