What Causes Fever And Excessive Fatigue After Travelling?

69 y/o male. Traveled to Vietnam October 26. Became ill after two weeks of travel. Symptoms were low-grade fever and fatigue. Stayed in bed. Went several days without eating. Fainted once and bruised chin. Been back home for one week. Lost about 13 pounds. Am eating well now, but still unusually fatigued. No respiratory distress. No stomach distress. Pooping & peeing normally. Just tired. Sleeping far more than usual. Otherwise, in excellent health. Had physical and blood work from primary care MD couple weeks before we left. All systems were OK.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

After a tiresome journey, where you accumulated all fatigue, the body needs to recuperate the loss occurred while travelling.

However, I would advise getting an X-ray chest to rule out any chest disease.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Gopal Goel,
