Hi,
Noted your history of feeling of hair ball that reduced on vomiting, but hte feeling returned again, the throat looks inflamed.
The commonest cause I can think about are one or a combination of the following:
Granular pharyngitis.
Hypertrophy of mucosa secondary to irritation from gastric juice or something in food or beverage.
Allergic reaction.
Further management as per the cause found.
Also do povidone iodine gargles.
Angioneurotic edema.
Hypertrophied lymphoid tissues.
This can be diagnosed by the following way.
Consult your Doctor for an actual examination of throat and
second opinion of an ENT Surgeon if required.
Anti-inflammatory if there is edema or hypertrophy.
Oral steroids help best.
Plenty of oral fluids helps clearing hte mucus and helps to alleviate the fear and feeling.
If the examination is normal then this can be condition called
globus hystericus and comes by anxiety and stress.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, ENT & General Surgeon
