What causes fatigue and shortness of breath in a degenerative arthritis patient?
I am elderly .... yesterday became very fatigued and satruggled with shortness of breath. These was no fluid in my lungs. ( my daughter is a nurse and she tested. ) other than degenerative arthritis I am healthy. What caused this onset of fatigue which caused me to fall?
Difficulty in breathing can be due to thoracic nerve involvement. You may need investigate like HRCT, MRI spine, EMG-NCV [nerve conduction study] AND PULMONARY FUNCTION TEST. I will advise to consult orthopaedic surgeon for clinical examination and further investigation.
For these symptoms BRONCHODIALATOR and neurotropic medication can be started consulting your doctor.
I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level.
