What Causes Fatigue Along With Appetite Loss And Headache?
10 yr old male - constantly tired - very poor appetite - headache - low grade fever that tylenol does not really control. Fever drops toi near normal after tylenol but goes back to around 100 (in ear) after about an hour or so. He can quite describe what is wrong - he just does not feel good. He says the headache is like a throbbing. This is not like him at all.
The symptoms your son is experiencing is likely due to viral illness. Continue giving Tylenol for fever and headache. You can also use cold sponges to control fever. Make sure to give him plenty of water and electrolyte containing solutions like Pedialyte. Follow mild diet like banana, applesauce, toast etc until the acute illness subsides. If the fever worsens, follow up with a pediatrician to rule out bacterial infections like ear infection or pneumonia.
