What Causes False Positive Test Results For Nicotine?
Hi I do not smoke and had a test for the nicotine. It came back positive!New factors in my life I was eating alot of almonds, also for 2 weeks at my daughters home and was exposed a few time to smoke in a room or on her clothes I had the test done 3 weeks after he visit/also moved to our new home and in the entry way by the garage I detected old slight presence of smoke that seems to have disappeared when airing out .Any thoughts on these element to give me a false positive
I can understand your concern. I can tell you with confidence that there is no way eating almonds can give positive test for Nicotine. It is also impossible to have nicotine in your system after 3 weeks of exposure which was passive through clothes or due to slight presence of smoke.
I would suggest that there might be some mistake in processing the test or the results might have interchanged with some else's results. You should go for another test which should come negative in the circumstances of exposure you have described.
I hope this answer helps you. Thank you for using HealthcareMagic. Take care.
