What Causes Facial Redness Along With Tingling Sensation While On Levaquin?

My 18 year old was diagnosed with pneumonia today. Her heart rate was always between 120-135. Finally went down to 111 and we were allowed to go home. She is on levaquin and I noticed red on her face and she says it tingles a bit. Is this normal or a reaction to the medicine

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain took the history of your daughter of having Pneumonia and for which she is being taking Levaquin that has active ingredient Levofloxacin and is an antibiotic..

Well, the symptoms of redness or flusig of face along with tingling is no way a normal finding and is most probably due to side effect of antibiotic Levofloxacin..
It can also be due to infection but most probable cause seems to be infection..

In case if it is tolerable it is fine as it will resolve once the medicine intake is stopped..
But if the symptoms worsen or if there are other symptoms too like itching, rashes, breathlessness etc consult your physician and he can change the antibiotic with other groups of antibiotics..
