What Causes Extreme Sleepiness When Diagnosed With Pericardial Effusion?

At least once a day, when I am sitting quietly, I will feel extremely sleepy. My eyes will roll back if I try to keep them open. After a few minutes the feeling passes and I am fine. I have pericardial effusion. Could that have anything too do with it? YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello Dear. Pericardial effusion doesnt seem to be the cause of your drowsiness. I hope you are under treatment for pericardial effusion.

There are chances that the medications you are taking for heart condition may be causing drowsiness as side effect.

Hope i have answered your question. Feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. I ll be glad to help you.
All the best
With warm regards
Dr Sanjay Kini
