General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The major cause for pericardial effusion is Viral, Bacterial and Tuberculosis. Since she is having a fever we have to rule out infectious causes. Or inflammatory disorders, such as lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. What is her age, any renal problem? Renal failure also causes effusion.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. C.ELANCHEZHIAN, General & Family Physician
