What Causes Extreme Pain In Stomach At The Area Of Gallbladder Removal?

I have been having stomach pain since June all kinds of tests. I was talking to my mom tonight and she was telling me my grandmother had extreme pain from scar tissue and ironically the pain is right where I have a scar from my gallbladder removal. Can scar tissue in the stomach cause the stomach to swell. I have had a colonoscopy, endoscopy, ct scan blood work. How do I find out if this is my issue

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my surgical experience, there can be various issues for the pain in stomach area after removal of gallbladder through surgery:
- Biliary colic
- Edema or swelling liver bed region
- Inflammation of bile ducts as cholangitis
- Narrowing of common bile duct
- Internal filmy adhesions
- Liver swelling

However, a clinical examination with ultrasound of the abdomen and pelvis are mandatory to proceed.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
