What Causes Extreme Fatigue And Shortness Of Breath?

My husband is tired all the time. He is tired when he gets up, when he walks to the mailbox, just anytime. He also has shortness of breath just walking to the mailbox and back. His joints and muscles ache all the time. When I say all, I am not exaggerating.
