What Causes Extreme Fatigue After A Surgery?

My father 49 years old just underwent surgery and he was discharged from hospital after 4 days.Its been a week now well he is seems to normal and doing all the regular things but he was saying he feels tiredness suddenly even if he is not doing anything jst while sitting and it lasts for 1-2mins.Is it normal?
