What Causes Excessive Weight Gain After Taking Progesterone?

I started to take Progesteone 125mg. Capsule from compound pharmacy and Adderll 30 mg. about the same time 2 weeks ago. I m 55, but instantly I gained 5 lbs and middle section has gone straight up and down. Where I use to have a figure. I weigh 165. 5 7 . Which Medicare is causing the weight that I can t get off and haven t chNge my food intake at all. I ve tried dieting this last week but no loss. Thank u!

Progesterone is a steroid medication and which is involved in the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, and embryogenesis. Commonly reported side effects of progesterone to include: abdominal cramps, weight gain, depression, dizziness, and headache. Weight gain is mainly due to sodium and water retention.

Adderall is composed of dextroamphetamine saccharate and amphetamine aspartate, which is indicated in the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Common side effects may include stomach pain, loss of appetite, weight loss, mood changes, fast heart rate, headache, dizziness, insomnia and dry mouth.

Hence, if you have gained weight, it might be due to the intake of Progesterone. Kindly consult your doctor for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
