What Causes Excessive Thirst, Frequent Urination, Swelling And Redness On The Feet?

My husband has excessive thirst, frequent urination, and swelling and redness of his feet. He had a valve replacement surgery last year and is diabetic. He thinks he has gout. He recently did a test for kidney function but do not have results yet. Thank you for any suggestion as to our next move. He thinks this will pass - I think he needs to see a doctor tomorrow.
