What Causes Excessive Sweating, Dizziness And Shoulder Pain?

I was leaning over to give my wife a kiss before walking the dog. I felt a popping sensation (one pop) got light headed, felt like I had fluids in my chest. I paused for a bit, it went away. I continued on my walk, my pulse was going crazy, I got light headed again, turned around and starting walking back home. I briefly got pain in the back of my right shoulder and down my arm but that went away. I ve had similar experiences like this happen about 5-6 times over last 5 years. Previous times would also include, excessive sweating, and dizziness. The first time I went to the hospital thinking I was having a heart attack, doctor said something happened but he didn t think it was a heart attack. Maybe panic attack.

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms could be related to a possible gastro-oesophageal reflux, especially considering the fact that you were bending forward when all this started.

Anyway, considering the fact that there are different repeated similar episodes in the last years, I would recommend performing some tests:

- an exercise cardiac stress test to investigate for coronary artery disease
- a fibrogastro-scopy to investigate for gastro-oesophageal reflux
- thyroid hormone levels for possible thyroid gland dysfunction.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
