What Causes Excessive Salivation While On Epilepsy Medication?

My granddaughter is 7. She has slobbers from her mouth and can not talk. She takes seizure medication both tablet & liquid. Plus coconut oil (her dad believes in herbs). This started about 2 yrs ago and the medication does not help. She is scheduled for an EEG on Saturday @ UPMC IT IS a 72 hr EEG. The Dr thinks it is from a different part of her brain than was tested in the first EEG. Is this possible?

Hello,
Excess salivation can be a side effect of some seizure medications. You need to talk to her neurologist about the medications and side effects. Most EEGs scan all areas of the brain but it is a good idea to have another test to see if they can determine what is going on.
