What Causes Excessive Night Sweats?

Hi I am 67 year old female. I have been having more night sweats lately but I do not put my air conditioning on but my windows are open and fans on. This morning I woke up with more sweating, BP was elevated but after my meds it went down. Keep checking it and it is 120/82 now. It is 80 degrees in my house, 90 outside and I have started sweating again. I am drinking plenty of liquids. I do not feel faint, dizzy, tired. I went on a 1.5 mile relaxed walk about 10am and of course sweat like normal

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Excessive sweating may be related to infection diseases such TBC, HIV etc, thyroid problems such hyperthyroidism or blood diseases such non Hodgkin lymphoma.

Do a total blood count with formula, thyroid hormone levels T3, T4 and TSH levels and also HIV 1,2 tests. You can send the results to me for interpretation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
