Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain excess mucous secretion can occur due to 2 main factors:
1. Increased production of mucous that can be caused due to upper
respiratory tract infection, oral infections,
acid reflux,
sinusitis causing
post nasal drip etc..
2. Reduced swallowing that can occur in conditions like
throat infection causing pain, bell's palsy, parkinsonism, myesthenia gravis etc..
I would therefore suggest you to consult an Oral Physician or an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x ray, MRI SCAN, blood tests etc can help in diagnosis and treated accordingly..
As of now you can gargle 3 to 4 times a day with antiseptic mouthwash and brush thrice a day as both these have drying effect inside mouth and will reduce mucous production..
Hope this information helps..
Regards..
