What Causes Excessive Burping And Acid Reflux?

Hi, I am a 55 year old female, about 35 lbs over weight...I never used to burp...now I burp all day long...when I do have acid come up my throat at night, it feels like my stomach is completely full of it ...that doesn t happen all the time. My stool is now turning black....my stomach is tender to the touch...I feel tired a lot....my joints ache most of the time.....I have to unrinate way to much...IF I don t drink enough water...when I urinate , I get this shock that travels all the way to the end of my left thumb ( I know,that sounds silly, but it happens ALOT, especially if I have been on my feet all day and hardly drink water.

Hi,

Burping, the feeling of acid in mouth and black stool may be caused by gastric or duodenal ulcers. I would recommend you seeing a Gastro-Enterologist to assess the severity of your condition. The blood loss from the ulcer may cause anemia, joint pain and low blood pressure, thus you feel weak after urinating since you lose body fluids, which are replenished when you drink water. This condition may be exacerbated by overweight. If you came at my clinic, I would first have you do a CBC followed by a gastroscopy. The treatment will be based on the results.
