What Causes Excessive Belly Fat And Swollen Legs While On Premarin?

I am taking Premarin and have gained a lot of belly weight, have hair loss and cramping in my legs along with swelling of my legs and feet. I have been taking it about a year and the symptoms seem to be getting worse.I am considering weening myself off of the medication.

Premarin tablets contain conjugated estrogens, a mixture of estrogens obtained from natural sources. Estrogen is a female sex hormone produced by the ovaries that necessary for many processes in the body.

All drugs certainly have side effects, including Premarin. Some of the side effects that commonly occur when using these drugs include:
-Dizziness or headache.
-Nausea.
-Dry eyes.
-Stomach or leg cramps.
-Bloated.
-Rash.
-Pain in the breast.
-Body weight increase or decrease .
-Changes in emotions or sex drive.

Since you experienced hair loss, swelling or pain in the legs, and it's getting worse, I'll suggest you to immediately stop using this drugs and call your doctor ASAP.
