What Causes Episodes Of Aphasia In An Elderly Man?
My dad is 83.7 years of age. He has had at least 4 episodes of aphasia over the past 3 months. He is 5 9 and 170 lbs. He walks and jogs 3 to 6 miles every day. He is on no medication. He is reluctant to go to the hospital. Mom died during a mistral valve replacement 1/23/14. Dad says he is ready for God to take him, too. He is active! He still drives and does well.
Hello, He could be having small strokes. It is important for him to see a doctor and be evaluated. He may be able to take medication to prevent a larger stroke if he gets evaluated properly. Please try to convince him to see a doctor and let them know about the aphasia. Regards
