Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello. I m 73 years old,and tak eamlodipine besylate5mg ,and isosorbide mn er 30 mg around 8am. by noon my blood pressure is app 115/65 and im tired all afternoon. in the eve i take pravastatin sodium 40mg, metoprolol succ er50 mg, and lisinopril 20 mg. in the morning my blood pressure is always over 175/88 or higher. why is that. i sleep only about 3 hrs at a time.
The morning hypotension with tiredness is in relation with combination of anti hypertensive effect of Amlodipine (beta blocker) and vasodilatory effect of Isosorbide mononitrate used together. It is best recommended to discuss the issue with your doctor, who will adjust the doses of the current medications, in terms of timings as well as mg strength to solve the issue.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
