What Causes Elevated Temperature On Palms And Feet?

Hello. I hope this is the right section to post this problem on. I have this weird problem that is, the temperature of my palms (not the entire hand) and feet usually feel higher than the rest of the body. I touch my hand with my palm and it feels really hot. Rest of the body appears to be at a normal temperature. Any idea what could be causing this and if this is somethign serious? All help much appreciated

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It is quite common and does not signify any disease condition. The two things we have to consider are hyperthyroidism and vasculitis.

You can go for a thyroid function test as hyperthyroidism can cause similar symptoms. Consult a rheumatologist to rule out vasculitis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
