What Causes Elevated Body Temperature And Pulse Rate?

I am a 70 year old female with no serious health issues that are known to me. Today, my temperature went up to around 100-102.3, and my pulse rate jumped to 103. I feel somewhat nauseous, have intermittant cramps, but nothing earth-shattering. Should I go to urgent care, or is it simply not yet at that level?

Hi.

I am glad we connected.

The symptoms you have mentioned sound like a fever or an infection. This is because of the fever, raised heart rate, and the weakness.

The cramps in the GI tract may be seen because of the contractions of the intestines. This is seen when one has excessive fluid because of the bacteria.

I find taking a BRAT diet useful for any type of infections. A BRAT diet is a mild diet that helps to relax the stomach. BRAT contains bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast. Along with this, taking Over the counter peptobismol and a painkiller for the fever would be useful.

I hope this helps. See a doctor if the symptoms persist. All the best!
