What Causes Elevated Blood Pressure Levels?

My blood pressure has constantly been high since getting pregnant Feb 2015. Had my son in Oct 2015. Had my blood pressure checked in Jan 2017 it was 162/73. I checked it yesterday 3/20/17 and it was 179/98. Now I did have a cavity giving me some pain at the time but it was managable. I am on birth control pills, methadone 150 mg once a day and 150mg of wellbutrin. Any guess of why my blood pressure would be this high? I am 30 year old female 5 7 200lbs. Thanks

Hello,

If raised blood pressure during pregnancy is called gestational hypertension. A woman's blood pressure usually returns to normal after delivery. Sometimes, however blood pressure may remain high, requiring treatment with medication.

Gestational hypertension is the hypertensive disorder of pregnancy with the highest incidence of subsequent hypertension.Women with preeclampsia have a greater tendency to develop hypertension than women with normotensive pregnancies.

Hope I have answered your query.
