What Causes Elevated WBC Count During Pregnancy?

Hi I am 35 weeks pregnant and my doctor told me for a few weeks now I have had an elevated white blood cell count or elevated melocytes and wanted me to go get it further checked out I am nervous and of course took to the internet to try and figure it out only to scare myself more is this something that is normal
