What Causes Elevated TSH Levels?
After being on a new thyroid medication for 6 weeks to lower levels they went up instead. So my doctor has prescribed 2 lower dose tablets a day. From one 97.5 mg. in the morning to a 65 mg. twice a day. Is that normal? Have been on throid meds for 14 years.

Elevated TSH levels are indicative of hypothyroidism.
In your case it appears that the ongoing dosage of thyroid supplements was suboptimal and hence the increase in TSH.
However a complete thyroid profile,that is FT3,FT4,TSH and anti TPO antibodies may be done before changing the dosage.
