What Causes Elevated RBC Count?

my red blood cell count went from a 10 to 12.3 doctor now says I will not have to have a bone marrow test done do you agree what is a good blood count for me iam 68 this was from a cancer nurse onocology my regular doctor says this is a low blood count for a man what is your professional opinion thank you so very much take jeus with you please from Richard Orme marion virginia

That is on the lower side. The normal value for a man is 13-15 g/dl. So it is a good count. That must be HB level not RBC values.
