Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had RP in 2006. In 2013 psa reappeared, sometimes as high as 0.2. In January it was 0.02. In March it was 0.7. The chemiluminesence test method was used. Could this be an error, or is it likely it suddenly jumped up and should I be concerned? My next Urology appointment is late next month.
Your PSA levels are not too concerning. PSA level below 4 is considered normal. Since you had a recent increase in PSA levels, Digital rectal examination to assess the prostate is recommended. Please be advised to follow up with your primary care provider for further evaluation and management Hope this answers your question Please address further questions here Regards, Dr.Lekshmi
